We had a series named "Spinouts [1st set]" at http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pe.cgi?23797. The resulting link to the Bibliographic Comments was to http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/index.php/Series:Spinouts [1st set]

MediaWiki redirected this to the bad-title page.

Per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_\(technical_restrictions)#Characters_totally_forbidden_in_page_titles mentions that the following characters are not allowed in MediaWiki titles
# < > [ ] | { }

Just below that in the Wikipedia article are comments on other characters where we'll need to think about how to handle them.

    This should apply to more than just series names too as ant ISFDB record name that includes those characters and automatically links into the wiki will have such an issue.

    This bug report is out of date since we now use the "Web pages" field to link Wiki-hosted pages.
