I am having a problem with GPRS connection. The T22 terminates the call GPRS connection after just over 2 minutes. I've been using GPRS for well over a year, so I know what to expect. I've checked Alessandro Suardi's problem of 2002-11-02. Is this a kernel problem I've encountered, and should await Suse upgrade to 9.1 (I gather shortly) Configuration: IBM Thinkpad T22 with IrDA enabled. 384Mb memory Dual boot with XP professional. Suse Linux 9.0 (Linux Kernel 2.4.21-202) - kept up to date. Symptoms: GPRS session starts OK. Can receive pages from various web sites (via Opera 7.50) Session terminates after 2.10 minutes (with varying amounts of data received) See dial-up log below from kinternet) SuSE Meta pppd (smpppd-ifcfg), Version 1.06 on linux. XP 1) Can do GRPS session OK - tested for over 20 minutes, and over 1.2 Mb received. 2) Can do dial-up with the same phone using a traditional GSM call, and all works fine What I have adjusted to see if gave any joy - but didn't Appear to affect 1) Baud rate between the IrDA port and the 6310i Many Thanks in anticipation Hugh Rees |
