Hi - I'm trying to get infrared (fast or slow) working on a Toshiba Satellite Pro TE2100. It works in XP, which says that it's an "SMC IrCC - Fast Infrared Port" on "Intel 82801CAN LPC Interface Controller - 248C" using DMA 1, IRQ 7, IO 0130-0137 and 02F8-02FF. Under Linux (2.6.0) it's "00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corp. 82801CAM ISA Bridge (LPC) (rev 02)". There's no access to anything irda-related in the BIOS. I can modprobe irda, ircomm, ircomm-tty okay. Donauboe modprobes okay with no output to syslog, but /proc/net/irda/discovery doesn't show any devices when the phone is in range. /proc/sys/net/irda/discovery is 1. 'ip link set irda0 up' says 'SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device' I have /dev/ircomm* (for *=0..31), but kppp says "Modem is busy" when pointed to /dev/ircomm0. Irdadump says nothing. Modprobe smsc-ircc2 gives 'Apr 22 19:06:24 localhost kernel: found SMC SuperIO Chip (devid=0x5a rev=00 base=0x002e): LPC47N227 Apr 22 19:06:24 localhost kernel: smsc_superio_flat(): IrDA not enabled Apr 22 19:06:24 localhost kernel: smsc_superio_flat(): fir: 0x2f8, sir: 0x2e8, dma: 01, irq: 7, mode: 0x02 Apr 22 19:06:24 localhost kernel: smsc_ircc_present(), addr 0x02f8 - no device found!' in syslog. Then I did './toshsat1800-irdasetup --irq=7 --dma=1 --firbase=0x2F8 --sirbase=0x2e8 --vendor=0x8086 --device=0x248C --cfgbase=0x0130' Syslog said 'Apr 22 19:10:01 localhost toshsat1800-irdasetup: toshsat1800-irdasetup 0.2 2002/04/07 15:42 Daniele Peri Apr 22 19:10:01 localhost toshsat1800-irdasetup: LPC47N227 chip (ver 0x5a, rev 0x0) found. Configuring: Apr 22 19:10:01 localhost toshsat1800-irdasetup: enabled decoding of port 0x2e8 Apr 22 19:10:01 localhost toshsat1800-irdasetup: enabled decoding of port 0x2f8 Apr 22 19:10:01 localhost toshsat1800-irdasetup: PCI device 0x8086:0x248c. Configuration ended' But 'modprobe smsc-ircc2' gave the same output as before, and still wouldn't install. Can anyone help? Thanks, Gwyn. |
