You must not forget to disable the commport first, by either not loading 
serial.o (kernel module) or by issuing a setserial /dev/ttySx uart none

Then try to load the module using the correct io=; irq= and dma= addresses 
ofcourse.

Nope. Acer TravelMate 800. Using 2.4.22 though, and for IrDA... well, i just 
enabled everything as a module :p
