Thanks for advices and your valuable time Jean and Werner! I was so desperate to get it working that I did a drastic "cut-down". Backed-up the system configuration, deleted partitions and reverted back to the redhat8. After installation and replacement of modules.conf with my irda settings everything works like a dream. From irdadump output I see that the system is now using some old version of irda- utils, but most importantly, it works. I'm not very happy about what I did but I didn't succeed in recompiling the kernel. Whaaaaa, this is life of a newbie :( Hmmm... Luckily I have another toshiba laptop with similar spec (just screen is smaller and cd-rom doesn't work) so I'll try redhat9 again this week. Guys, how is possible that redhat8 and old irda-utils does work even with buggy t68? What exactly in redhat9 kernel, or in new irds-utils causes the bug to appear? Thanks a million! Marek |
