Hi Kees and others, thank you for you answer, I will focus on hotplug during further experiments. I send an issues from my yesterday experiments, now. As I said I have two machines - desktop called puma and laptop called frog. So, on both machines I do "modprobe irlan eth=0 access=2" and after that "irattach /dev/ttyS1 -s". Here is an approptiate part of issue of "ifconfig -a" on computer puma: -------------- cut ---------------- irda0 Link encap:IrLAP HWaddr 61:22:59:c7 UP RUNNING NOARP MTU:2048 Metric:1 RX packets:189 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:8 RX bytes:3186 (3.1 Kb) TX bytes:972 (972.0 b) irlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00 BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) -------------- cut ----------------- After that I run "ifconfig irlan0 192.168.100.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.100.255" on puma and then "ifconfig irlan0 192.168.100.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.100.255" on frog.
