First make sure you understand there is a difference between
FIR and SIR. For FIR you need a dedicated driver. For SIR (which
is often easier to get to work) you need to know which "serial" port
is occupied by IrDA. You may find some pointers in the Getting Started
part of the HOWTO. Latest news are at Jeans page.
