Hi, I'm using Compaq Armada E500 on a Mandrake Linux 9.0beta and infrared is working perfectly. What I know for making FIR working is to unload serial driver, and then modprobe smc-ircc. Serial must be loaded after smc-ircc ! No more to do ! For me, I had to recompile the kernel since serial was not built as module :-( If you have any questions, don't hesitate. Mantis.
