Well, I could do that - or just put the text in the png that represents the graphic. That works (although is not too cross-platform) On Wed, 10 Nov 2004 17:00:34 -0800, Jacob Slusser <jac...@ho...> wrote: > > > > > Oh, I see. Well, my feeling is that the toolbar is pretty essential. I can't get a toolbar with text on OSX ;P So, I need to think about another way to provide that functionality (the start and stop scanning), unless someone thinks I should spend the time to develop a hack to get it to work....or if we just accept the graphics (w/o the text), then that should work also... hi jasmeet good suggestions! most of the message related stuff your bringing up will be shortly handled by the new MessageHandler class , which ralinx has factorized from the serverconnection. this way i can work on it seperately. you was talking about some perl code you have written, are there maybe some regexes i can use? regards cycosick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jasmeet Sidhu" <JS...@lo...> To: <irc...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 2004 10:29 PM Subject: [Ircleech-devel] A few things... > First of all, I think adding comments is an excellent idea. > > A couple of things jumped right out at me: > > 1) When IRCLeech starts, please don't force it into Maximized mode, Normal > is fine. yes i definitely want that communication part too... especially the communication going from the bot to the application. if we could simply display that in the same listview with the request/download information, we could get rid of the horrible RequestStatus column... no more of that "Awaiting Response" simply because the bot communicates in a way that isn't picked up by our regular expressions. whatever the bot says will be displayed in that column. The user would then get a good idea on whether or not he's queued, what queue position he has, etc... and the communication coming from the server could also be interesting... for instance when there's a server that you can never connect to. at least you'd be able to see why. the amount of downloads per bot... i would really like to keep this to 1. Otherwise it would just be too easy for those bots to get raped. First of all, I think adding comments is an excellent idea. A couple of things jumped right out at me: 1) When IRCLeech starts, please don't force it into Maximized mode, Normal is fine. How about a configurable option? 2) Configurable parameters such as: a) Max # of concurrent downloads per bot b) Max # concurrent downloads at any given time 3) Output from IRC Servers...Can we somehow display the communication between a) IrcLeech <-> IRC Server b) IrcLeech <-> XDCC Bot Maybe we can add something to the Status and Download forms? Clicking on a server will open up a giant textbox that shows maybe the last 500 lines or so? And clicking on a bot in the downloads queue should show the communication that has taken place between the XDCC bot and IRCLeech? What do you guys think? I feel this is the biggest thing missing... I don't want a complete irc interface.. Or what about simply logging to a text file... Anyways, from the 2.0 TODO list, I've decided on the following: 03) improved downloads functionality: 03.1) pausing downloads 03.2) prioritized downloads 03.3) opening completed downloads from within the application I'll be giving these three a lot of attention in the next few days, so feel free to throw some ideas at me. yes i was thinking about that too . it clearly should not be part of the serverconnection. it's also easier this way if your thinking about a plugin system for the future . ps: actually iam right now on EFNET irc.dks.ca #IRCLeech ;-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Davy Brion" <ra...@gm...> To: <irc...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 2004 9:32 PM Subject: Re: [Ircleech-devel] cycosick > about the serverconnection and the message parsing... i'd like to move > all of the message parsing code to a seperate helper class called > MessageHandler because ServerConnection has become way too big for > it's own good. i'm gonna experiment with this for a bit and i'll post > back about this later. > > > On Wed, 10 Nov 2004 20:46:08 +0100, Sisong <si...@vo...> wrote: >> hi all togehter ! >> i am a hobby c# coder from germany and happy to be part of such a nice >> project. >> as first I wanted to work on the leechcore, mainly the serversonnection >> and >> message parsing part, to get more valueable information out of the bots. >> this will improve the useability of this app i think. >> >> i am open minded so lets get in touch ;) >> >> regards cycosick >> >> ------------------------------------------------------- >> This SF.Net email is sponsored by: >> Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE >> LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. >> http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588&alloc_id=12065&op=click >> _______________________________________________ >> Ircleech-devel mailing list >> Irc...@li... >> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ircleech-devel >> > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by: > Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE > LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. > http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588&alloc_id=12065&op=click > _______________________________________________ > Ircleech-devel mailing list > Irc...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ircleech-devel > |

Jasmeet brought up the issue of documentation, but unfortunately we don't have any. If you guys want, i'd be willing to write XML comments in the IrcLeechCore code so we can generate some nice technical documentation from it. I guess it would definitely be usefull to all of us. |

about the serverconnection and the message parsing... i'd like to move all of the message parsing code to a seperate helper class called MessageHandler because ServerConnection has become way too big for it's own good. i'm gonna experiment with this for a bit and i'll post back about this later.
