first a note about the ealier email i thought bout using MySQL as the default SQL Server but... well it goes as follows i thought that the Server will run on a Linux Machine Linux Machines wont be equiped with the Data Base Servers which windows may be equiped with it will be equiped with MySQL(very popular SQL) but... windows doesnt come with MySQL something which will require users to install MySQL on their Machine(Server & Client) like it? i dont but for now i think that it will be neccesery(so we wont deal with several Data Base Servers) later we'll change it i'm currently attempting to boot the MySQL Server on my Machine when(if :) i'll succeed i'll put in the site instructions on how to do it any of you who will want to try the Server/Client on their Machines will haf to install MySQL on their Machine what can i say? life sucks :) btw , any coder who has experience with sprits? this is for the graphics now about the IRCivilization Virtual World the current virtual world is a 4Gx4G Map there is also an option for Grided map and this is the topic of this email here are two options(that i think are possible) they all assume that the map is Gridded(for example 32x32 cells are created by the grids) 1) Fixed Structures(houses) will take Whole number of cells and will start within a cell 2) Fixed Structures and Characters will take Whole... now u need to decide what's better just note that if u pick option 2 it may mean that two characters wont be able to get near one eachother also there is the problem of moving characters , anyone has an idea how? we also need to create surfaces for characters to be on the IRC Client Module is partialy ready , it needs more functionality i'm also making the Client using Direct-X , but i believe i'll encounter many problems :) i still hav'nt picked the best C++ Compiler because of the current problem with SQL hope to hear from u all soon ______________________________________________ FREE Personalized Email at Mail.com Sign up at http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup |
