Hello all-- I would like to use my PRO/Wireless 2100 notebook on a network implementing 802.1x and Dynamic WEP. Unfortunately, I have to use a commerical supplicant (AEGIS Client from Meetinghouse Data Communications) because Xsupplicant does yet not support either of the two available EAP types, LEAP or PEAP-GTC. I have tested the ipw2100 driver and the AEGIS Client. It does not work, and the problem is this: I cannot associate with an encrypted AP without setting a key (which should be set automatically after authentication), and entering an arbitrary key to force association leads to (causes?) failed packet decryptions. I will post a kernel log of the failed packets tomorrow. Right now I am at home and don't have access to the network in question. That all being said, I realize that the WEP code is unstable and needs work and testing. I probably can't help much with the former, but I am very interested in helping test the ipw2100 driver's use with 802.1x and dynamic WEP (specifically the Meetinghouse AEGIS Client). I have daily access to a network using dynamic WEP, as well as a notebook with a PRO/Wireless 2100 adapter in it. It seems to me that allowing the adapter to associate with an encrypted AP without a key set might be a good first step. How hard would such an undertaking be or is this something that may be done in the future? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
