Yes, this would be useful for me as well. Media Geek doesn't
seem to ID3 its podcasts properly, nor does Theory of
Everything. Both listenable but difficult to file away in
the winamp media library.

I second the idea, doppler has the option to force Genre to
Podcast. Very useful for constructing smart Playlist,
synching etc.
Thanks, ++jrb

I'd love to see this added as a feature, especially to work
in conjunction with iTunes. I prefer to all my podcasts
tagged with the genre "Podcast" in order to use a Smart
Playlist to find out which ones have a 0-playcount: in other
words, which ones have I not yet listened to. Have a few
subscriptions, and it's hard to keep up. The problem is
that many of my podcasts are not coming in with a "Podcast"
genre tag. If I could have Ipodder overwrite whatever genre
with the genre of my choosing, it'd make managing my
downloads much easier. Extending this feature to the other
ID3 fields would be terrific as well - a user-based override
would do wonders.

This is all possible in the latest iPodder, version 2.1
which is available at our site.
