With the latest version of i-Tunes (v 6), I am unable
to use i-Tunes as the Player of choice in Preferences.
Version 5 worked fine and Windows Media Player does
work as the player. I would prefer to use i-Tunes.
If I understand your report correctly it may have been a
fault in iTunes 6.0. It appears Apple have corrected several
faults like this with iTunes 6.0.1 - if you have been having
trouble try the upgrade to 6.0.1 and you may find your
problem solved. Apologies if I have misunderstood your problem.

I am currently using iTunes 6.0.1 after the upgrade and I
cannot use this as my default player (see attached iPodder
log file).
