I've been using iPodder for a couple of months,
transferring podcasts to my MP3 player, and was about
to make a donation, when a problem started:
Downloaded podcasts (all from the web site of KCRW-
FM) started to have mangled names, instead of the fully
descriptive names that they had formerly. For
example: kubgxyqj.mp3.
I can play these files in media players on my PC, but
they won't play on my MP3 player (Creative MuVo
N200). (Also, they are not listed when I traverse the
folders on the player, through the player's user
interface.) The fully descriptive names appear in the
iPodder Downloads window, as well as in the media
player.
Can you explain the mangled names?
Thank you.

I've figured out part of this problem -- why the selections didn't
play on the N200. This is because the N200 can't seem t
traverse a directory hierarchy that is more than one folder
deep. If I rearrange the folders accordingly, the player finds
and plays all podcasts.
However, I would still like to know why the names are
mangled upon download.
