[Ipmgmt-dev_team] FASD project: Online survey launched

Dear Open Source developer

I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate.
You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it.

With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development.

PROJECT STATUS
1. HLD ( of the core) is over 
2. Framework core LLD started
3. XML Handler work to start
4. Documents updated for initial reading

TEAM MEMBER STATUS
1. Shreyas (Novell)is working on the  
             * Frame work core, data structure design etc
             * Daemon mechanism
2. Anoop (Novell)
             * I will post the DTD on the web
             * to work on t he XML handler
             * I have posted the initial set of docs for coding
guidelines and all
3. Amit  (Novell)
             * Basic build environment is done
             * investigating on the localisation / i18 support for the
builds
             * Integrating applications , he is trying to work on the
apache ( Refer the IPMGMT_APPLICATION_APPROACH doc)
4. Sean 
            * We need to synch up with Sean, he has good expertise in
admin field 
               which is going to help us tremendously . I need to
explain to him the concept of the project
              and the benefits
5. Vijay
             * Need to Synch up  with Vijay and see what we can do. I
feel that he can come up with the GTK design part.

NEXT WEEK PLAN
1.  Need to get the build environment to CVS
2. Start the XML handling side - my module
3. Proceed with Frame work
4. Synch up with new members and  get their ideas, We can see whether
they can give new ideas.
