Mathias Kuhring

This gives an overview how to run the Downloader.
It will help downloading all the data necessary for the mapping of PSMs to a genome using iPiG.
For more details about the data formats look at the corresponding wiki page: [Input Formats]

iPiG GUI

Select Organism

  • Select the organism the mapping should be done with, probably the PSMs' organism of origin.

Select Data

  • Select the data which should be downloaded.
  • Gene annotations, amino acid sequences and id mappings are necessary for the mapping with iPiG. The proteome may improve the id mapping. The genome is necessary for GeneControl.

Select Save Folder

  • Select a folder where all files shell be saved (and possibly extracted).

Options

  • Select Extract files... to extract the downloaded files automatically.
  • Select Display ftp status to show ftp connection information during the download.
  • Select Use proxy if a proxy connection is necessary to get an internet connection.
  • Press Settings to set up the proxy (server, port and login if necessary)

Note: Since all data are loaded from ftp server, the proxy server must permit ftp connections!

Download

  • Start
    • Start the downloads and the extractions (if selected).
  • Stop
