Hi,

We upgraded the 2.0.6 IPCop's version to the 2.1.0 without any problems and the system rebooted properly.
But, when we upgraded from 2.1.0 to 2.1.1 we losted NETWORK connection.
We have this message on startup : "Starting interface GREEN ... NTNETLINK answers : No such file or directory".

When we done "ifconfig" : we have only loopback adress (inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0.).
When we done "ifconfig -a" we see all of our interfaces (lan-1 and wan-1).
But, when we done "ifconfig lan-1 (or wan-1) up" we have : "SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory".

In setup menu wa see all of our cards and the right IP addresses !

Our IPCop 2.1.1 is working on DELL Power Edge R210II (we have 20 of them around the France) and we used DOUBLE NETWORK CARD : Broadcom Corporate NetXreme II BCM5716 Gigabit Ethernet.

Everything was working properly until the version 2.1.1.

Could you explane us why we losted frimware (or drivers) of our Broadcom with update and how can we fix it ?

PS : we was test with USB NETWORK Card and it's working.

Waiting for you reply.

Best regards.

    See this: http://www.ipcop-forum.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=31314
You will need bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw and put it in /lib/firmware/bnx2

For reasons unknown the network card wants a differing firmware BLOB, which is no longer part of the normal kernel distribution.

This will be fixed in one of the next updates.
