Bugs item #727232, was opened at 2003-04-24 15:03 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=427254&aid=727232&group_id=40179 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: dynamo hangs with simultaneous large block reads and writes Initial Comment: Configure a PCIX Qlogic 23xx or LSI 72xx HBA in a server such as a Dell 1600SC. Install the latest drivers firmware, and Service Packs for Win2K. Attach a highspeed Fibre Channel Device such as a solid state disk like the Texas Memory Systems Ram- san 220 with the 2Gb interface. Map 2 workers to 1 LUN each. Set outstanding I/Os to 2 and transfer size to 256KB. Perform random reads on 1 Lun and random writes on the other. Start transfer and iometer immediately locks up. Iometer can be closed, but dynamo cannot close. Task Manager cannot end the task either. Machine must be rebooted. You can also use 1 worker with 50% reads and 50% writes. Seen on two server models and both the LSI and the QLogic PCIX HBAs. Will retest on RAID. jgo...@pd... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=427254&aid=727232&group_id=40179 |
