Hello all. I'm running OSX 10.3.4 and have been following the install steps to setup iODBC and MyODBC found in the SAMS "Mac OS X Unleashed" book. Everything seemed to be going o.k. w/ the installation. I went to www.iodbc.org and downloaded the libiodbc-3.0.6.tar.gz and did the ./configure step with no problem. I then used sudo mkdir to create the iodbc directory under /usr/local/include/iodbc and then copied the header files over into that directory. I then went to www.mysql.com/downloads/api-myodbc-3.51.html and downloaded the latest MyODBC binary distribution. I then ran the ./configure according to the book. This ran without any problems or errors. The last step I was able to accomplish without any errors was in typing making to compile the driver. After that when I tried to create the iODBC shared library the first command couldn't find the "driver" directory - and I did a find and wasn't able to find the necessary directory on the drive. Here's the exact steps and subsequent error message: cd driver; cc -bundle -undefined error -o .libs/libmyodbc3.so catalog.o connect.o dll.o execute.o handle.o info.o myodbc3.o options.o prepare.o results.o transact.o utility.o cursor.o error.o misc.o -L/usr/local/mysql/lib -L/usr/local/lib -lz -liodbcinst -lc -lmysqlclient -bash: cd: driver: No such file or directory cc: catalog.o: No such file or directory cc: connect.o: No such file or directory cc: dll.o: No such file or directory cc: execute.o: No such file or directory cc: handle.o: No such file or directory cc: info.o: No such file or directory cc: myodbc3.o: No such file or directory cc: options.o: No such file or directory cc: prepare.o: No such file or directory cc: results.o: No such file or directory cc: transact.o: No such file or directory cc: utility.o: No such file or directory cc: cursor.o: No such file or directory cc: error.o: No such file or directory cc: misc.o: No such file or directory My question is this - did I miss a step? Where is the "driver" directory supposed to reside? Or should it have been created as part of one of the steps that I missed somehow? Thanks for any assistance in advance - I greatly appreciate it! :) Brian Garrett br...@ga... |
