I'm going to be speaking about KDE at LB '03 and am trying to get together a team to do a KDE demo at the conf. It would be cool to demo however much i18n stuff you folks have done. I've posted the following to a bunch of lists, please pass it on to your mailing list and let me know if you're interested. Eagerly awaiting your response, -Taj. ------------------------------------------------------------- Hi folks, At LB'01 I found that a large number of people want to check out upcoming versions of KDE. As you may know, KDE 3.2 "Rudi" is to be released soon and is easily the most polished and powerful version yet. The significantly improved KOffice is also scheduled for release around the same time. So we need volunteers to demo the current Beta to visitors, apart from my talk on the new release. This means: - A few machines running the Beta or current CVS at a KDE booth. Kishore has kindly informed me that the space is available. - A couple of bright KDE users or hackers to explore the new stuff in this release (there is a lot!) and show it off to people. - Ideally we want a Bharatiya flavour to the demos, so this is an excellent chance for the localisation folks to show off their work in progress and perhaps attract more hands to their efforts. If you are willing to help in the form of your time or demo machines, please contact me ASAP at ta...@kd.... If you've never done this kind of thing before, don't be put off - the conf-goers are friendly, interested and totally unlike the jaded visitors at most tech shows. The only hard part is to get Rudi on the demo machines, and I'm happy to help with that.
