Hello, New versions of Pothana2000 and Vemana fonts including the 14 new characters recently accepted by Unicode Consortium are now available at my website http://www.kavya-nandanam.com. In addition to including these new chars, the current version of Pothana2000 also eliminates a bug the existed in the previous version and also contains finely tuned contours for 35% of the glyphs included in the font. You can download the proposal for new chars submitted to Unicode Consortium following the link: http://std.dkuug.dk/jtc1/sc2/wg2/docs/n3116.pdf. Actually 6 of the newly accepted chars were already present in those fonts, but now they are assigned 'official' code points within the Telugu block. The remaining 8 are for accomodating the older writing style for numerical fractions in Telugu, which are almost never used at present. Regards, K.Desikachary |
