If the email clients can understand and render Unicode
in the said
language(s), then I don't think its very difficult.
From googling:
http://google.com/search?q=gnu+mailman+unicode
I got
http://barry.warsaw.us/papers/mailman-freenix-2003/
From which I understood the following:
The "text" or "message" of emails can readily be
handled by the
mailman interface, as it stands. This is due to the
unicode abilities
of the Python language. Mailman already RFC 2047 [1]
compliant, via
the Email [2] package.
The Web interface on Mailman, for subscription etc,
needs to be done
in a given language, but Mailman has a framework (
like GNOME po ) to
take care of this.
It should probably be a week's job, for an experienced
python
programmer, to get the framework in place. Plus the
time it takes for
the local language placeholders in the web interface,
which will
depend on volunteer support.
I probably don't know what I'm talking about.
Cheers,
Cherry
