nice of you to email me. basically we are working on making technology available to preserve and promote ethnic languages( punjabi as base to start with) and to make them compete with modern challanges by developed languages. BUT ALL THESE WITHOUT ANY GRANT OR FINANCIAL HELP FROM ANY BODY. so our work is slow , but our products are now selling at a reasonable pace and price and it is giving us encourgement as it is being used by people in real need. thier feed back has improved the programs and has made us more sure that usefullnes sells. But i would certainly like to make these and future things free, but how i don't know. till then we are working slowly. we have developed to major programs and one standard program *1.Multi Font Convertor -- to correct font discrepencies and equalize key board layouts. *2.Multi language spell check -- it works with any language and matching font *3.Standard Punjabi font *4. more than 100 support programmes 1&2 are standalone + can be called from any Windows programme with instant feature. regards Janmeja Johl 91-98144-83185 0161-2426246 2920, Gurdev Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, India ----- Original Message ----- From: "jnshah" <jit...@vs...> To: <ind...@li...> Sent: Monday, January 01, 2001 1:11 PM Subject: Re: Indic-computing-users digest, Vol 1 #279 - 1 msg > My dear Janmeja Johl > This is Jitendra shah. > i am actively working on a project for translation of Linux in many > indian languages. > I have applied for a major grant for the same. > May i know a little more about your product and your expectation for the > phases of activity (past , present and future) so that I could think of > including the same in my project which is meat to be totally free and > will be called gnubhaarati. > This project is likely to be taken up by an engg institution in Mumbai . > If any querry including apprehension, feel free to get back including > thru the indic computing list. > My work so far is on www.indictrans.org > You are requested to walk through the same. > May i request you to respond with your commebts > regards > -jitendra > > > > > > 1.
