The Mozilla issue is a major bottleneck, and needs to be tackled asap.

I have no idea about the coding procedures followed by the mozilla
developers.
However,  I guess, it might help if the students take a look at the
sources of already working tools, like Yudit, QT 3.2, Pango, etc.
