On Mandrake 9.0 and 9.1 I am able to select a Marathi font (Shivaji etc.) and type and print in Marathi under OpenOffice... excellent quality! I mentioned Mandrake becuase you need OpenOffice with anti-aliased fonts support and Mandrake has it in 9.0 and 9.1.
