I just ran into this :
 http://digitalbangla.ektaonline.org/bn_main.html (btw, I viewed it
 from mozilla in a sun workstation -- worked fine)

I was really impressed with the site design and the documentation
regarding the project. I am curious to know the opinion of the
 group.

I was initially impressed to see the site appear flawlessly on my
Galeon.  But got disappointed quickly to see all the Bangla as GIF
images.

And what kind of a twisted Bangla is on that site?  "Bina mulle
 labbha kore din".  Certainly it's not Bangladeshi Bangla.

Ya, I noticed that later.

What you thought of the concept? The pay now get free stuff later
deal? I am not sure what to think of it.
