I'm sorry that I have been a dormant member of Indic-computing list. There
is very little I can contribute to Indic computing per se.

In case you are interested, Richard Stallman (of GNU fame) is giving a
speech on the Danger of Software Patents at IIIT Bangalore on Nov 2nd. The
