 Did you install the unicode mo files in proper place viz
/usr/share/locale/hi/LC_MESSAGES or
/usr/share/locale/hi_IN/LC_MESSAGES
 & set the locale to hi or hi_IN after setting the font ( export
LANG=hi_IN  )?
