Hello Everyone, Accessing Indian language applications over the internet is hampered by the fact that Unicode support is not available on Windows 95 and 98. IBM alphaWorks contains an IME (Input Method Editor) for Indic languages that does the following: 1. Facilitates input of Unicode text for Indic languages on older Windows machines. 2. Uses Open Type Fonts to display the characters being entered into the text area. 3. Uses INSCRIPT layouts for different Indian languages. 4. Displays an on-screen layout for ease-of-use. 5. Applies to the following Indian languages: Hindi/Marathi/Konkani/Sanskrit, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali/Assamese/Manipuri, Punjabi, Kannada, Malayalam and Oriya. You will need an open type font for the script that you want to type in. Download it from: http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/indicime Evaluate it at : https://secure.alphaworks.ibm.com/eval/indicime If you think these kinds of technologies are important for Indian language computing over the internet, tell us more at: http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/forum/indicime.nsf Visit http://www.ibm.com/software/globalization for extensive information and advice on building solutions in the languages of your users, partners and customers.
