Dear all Indians, Very often I read people refering to Indian languages as vernacular languages. This was the word used by British while refering to the languages used by Indians, Africans, etc. meaning the language of slaves. Please check the Webster meaning of the word at http://www.m-w.com/. You can find out yourself.
