Works fine on my Windows XP box (except for keyboard input). I think
our energies are better spent in making X support OT fonts. XFreeST
(stsf.sf.net) recently added Indic support. Is the OO project doing
anything with STSF ?

under GPL. Since then, I have re-encoded in UTF-8. And I find it to be a
very useful resource. What I have is: English Hindi Dictionary Version 2.0. 
Newer versions may have been published since then.
