Great news for those keen on getting kannada on linux via Kde and Gnome. Arun Sharma has posted a screenshot of a kde desktop with kannada icons. The reason the half-consonants or vattu's have not been showing is kde-3 has basic support for Indian languages and not for all the glyphs. Anyway, do subscribe to the mailing list(given below), if you are interested in translating gnome or kde. -Pramod. --- Arun Sharma <ar...@sh...> wrote: > From: Arun Sharma <ar...@sh...> > To: ka...@sh... > Subject: [Kannada] Kannada KDE Screenshots! > Date: Sun, 22 Sep 2002 13:07:38 -0700 > > Without further ado: > > http://www.sharma-home.net/~adsharma/languages/kannada/desktop/snapshot2.png > > Details: > > - The translation work is not limited to kde-i18n/kn > directory as > suggested in the KDE translation howto. > > - Every desktop icon (such as Home.desktop) has a > table of translations > (Name[kn]=..., Name[en]=... etc) and needs to be > edited.
