This is subjective as we try to keep the footprint of libindi small, so for "sufficiently" popular devices, their drivers are included in the default libindi release. others are releases as 3rd party. 3. Yes and no. I planned to add a little document on coding conventions but didnt have the time. You can take a look a QSI CCD driver which follows most of these conventions. 4. in this case it is better to release as 3rd party so that u can fix or update it independent of libindi official release schedule.
