Dear Dominik, the reference document still is available from the same page mentioned, i.e. https://www.inchi-trust.org/download/106/LICENCE.pdf It still is /the one/ shipped with version 1.06 by December 2020, created on `Tue Sep 1 11:18:12 2020 CEST` (readout by pdfinfo). You possibly point to point #3 stating ``` «You may opt to apply the terms of the ordinary GNU General Public Licence instead of this [bespoken] Licence to a given copy of the Library. [...] Once this change [InChI license -> GPL v2] is made in a given copy [of yours], it is irreversible for that copy, [and any subsequent derivatives].» ``` (square brackets enclose an interpretation of the text by mine). A suggestion to the members of InChI trust: At present you prepare a bug fix release of InChI 1.06+ then possibly including a revised license. As an alternative to this, InChI trust might consider the release of InChI version 1.06.1 as a patch; in comparison with current version 1.06 without functional changes the libraries and reference executable provide, however about an adjustment of the license. For one, if elected, the trustees may convene and decide on this alone. For an other, the developers may continue their work toward version 1.07 eventually released at a later point of time when qualifying as «ready for publication», too. With regards, Norwid |
