Hello, I just installed ImDisk Toolkit, https://sourceforge.net/projects/imdisk-toolkit/files/20240210/ImDiskTk-x64.zip

Setup went fine, I ran the RamDisk Configuration shortcut.
On the Basics tab I changed size to 8GB, drive letter to T:, I unchecked Created TEMP Folder.
On the Advanced tab I entered TEMP as drive label and checked quick format.
On the Data tab, I selected a directory where I have nothing but two dirs, one called TMP and another called TEMP, with both at default permissions +Users +Authenticated Users with full access added.
When I click ok, I get this message: "Error: files cannot be copied" and the directory opens in Explorer - it's open, indeed.
I checked permissions a few times, nothing, I got the same error over and over again.
I rebooted - the files were copied, no error.
So, it did not work on a fresh system after installation, but it did work after the reboot.
I I ran the RamDisk Configuration shortcut again, I changed nothing, and I get the same error again.
So, there's something wrong when running the tool as admin vs. running it on startup as user.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

Strange... I just did a test with all your informations (except the drive size), and no problem for me.

Anyway, there are 2 differences between the GUI and the service that runs at system startup:
    - The GUI reports copy errors, not the service.
    - The GUI runs under the "Admin" user while the service runs under the "System" user.

In both cases, copy of data is done through the xcopy command. If an error is reported, it can prevent the data synchronization at system shutdown.

So, according to what you say, I guess that it's merely a permission issue.

    Hi V77,
    thanks for the quick response!

I checked permissions. These users have full access:
    - Administrators (<devicename>\Administrators)
    - SYSTEM
    - <my username=""> (<domain>\<my username="">)
These users have read only access:
    - Authenticated Users
    - Users (<devicename>\Users)</devicename></my></domain></my></devicename>

Shouldn't this permit both System and Admin accounts to work correctly?

    Thank you!
