    ppp ppp - 2016-09-13

    Hi,
    thanks for your great work.

I've found a virus alert in ImDisk Toolkit 20160908 32 bit by Avira Free Antivirus. Look at the picture below:

I speak of that in the presentation of the version 20160908.
I always check the installer on VirusTotal before uploading it.
Recently, there were 8 alerts. Now, only 5... But there is still the famous "Artemis" of McAfee.

The same code in 64-bit: only 1 alert.

Everything is open source: the way to open a SFX 7-Zip archive, the compressor used for the SFX module (UPX) which also allows to retrieve the original executable...
So the work is for the antivirus editors.

This version have now 7 alerts.

The new version (20160917) have only 3 alerts. And no popular antivirus among these 3. I have made a few optimizations in the extractor, this probably helps.

The version 20161025 32-bit shows a lot of alerts on VirusTotal (currently 8), likely because of the change made in the SFX module.

Of course, I can spend my time to contact each antivirus editor. Or I can start to write the next feature. I choose the second possibility.

An antivirus that is unable to make the difference between a threat and a legitimate software is not only useless, but also dangerous.
