Hi Ilya,

I tried to install MIB on a new workstation. I had to downloaded Fiji and the version proposed now is bundled with java 1.8. When I wanted to use the 3D viewer from MIB, it didn't wanted to install java3D.

I downloaded the Fiji with java 1.6 and it worked well. I will report the issue to the dev of Fiji.

Nevertheless, I think it is in your interest to signal that people should for the moment use Fiji java 1.6, to connect it to MIB.

Bests,
Tom

    Hi Tom,
    thank you for reporting that.
I reproduced that on a freshly installed Fiji and updated to 1.8.73 Java. I will check on my main workstations the versions of Fiji and Java to see what was the working combination.

    Best regards,
    Ilya

    Curtis Rueden (Fiji) replied :
Since you are using the new Fiji bundled with Java 8, you should not need to run this installer script anymore. Rather, Fiji itself ships with Java 3D 1.6 just like any other library. So the 3D Viewer should "just work" from MATLAB in this scenario (famous last words—I didn't try it). If not, please reply back with details of how it fails, and we can troubleshoot.
