I'll admit that IlohaMail is a nightmare when it comes to integrating with other CMS applications. I'm planning creating a session library to make authentication/session instantiation possible without user interaction (any interest in sponsoring that feature?) which should help, when I actually get around to doing it... As for going frame-less, I don't think anyone's done it yet. I don't think it's impossible, although all the JavaScript stuff in 0.9 will certainly break, possibly beyond repair. Of course, it'll still work if Javascrpt usage is set to low, so maybe that's not too much of an issue. Making IlohaMail use Drupal's CSS might be a problem as well. You might be better of trying to get Dupal to load both its CSS and IlohaMail's CSS, and try and create an IlohaMail theme that closely resembles the look you want. Anyway, those are some preliminary thoughts...
