I saw your FAQ about Outboxes, folders/trash, etc and understand your thinking <http://ilohamail.org/docs/view.php?id=52>. But, for me and from a user's perspective, the ability to check messages that were sent is a real plus, particularly in a enterprise environment where people are used to those same features in Outlook (yech!). I like that Ilohamail will work directly with the existing mail accounts already setup on my server through the cpanel. I'm testing another app called Poppawid < http://poppawid.sourceforge.net/ > that has Outboxes/trash features, but accounts must be entered into the Poppawid database to be available -- a duplication of work. Of course, if my client doesn't mind paying me for the time to re-enter accounts, well... I also looked at NeoMail, but cannot install it on this particular server. For what it's worth, being able to check what messages were sent does provide verification that the message was indeed sent -- which can be considered comforting to users -- as well as a way to remember and review what was sent. I suppose one could cc everything to oneself, but that's not really a viable solution and would probably create more confusion. Can a plug-in or module of some sort be created to enable these kinds of features? A substantial percentage of this particular client's employees do not have a dedicated workstation assigned to them so the webmail system is the only place for them to manage their emails. Are you thinking, "they need IMAP"? Perhaps, but that is not an option on their server. Well, enough on this topic. It's still a great app. Best regards, Kimo Lee |
