Hi all, After a bit of battling with the Nexus repo manager at Sonatype we've managed to release Ikasan 0.7.11. This should be the last release for the 0.7.x branch, we expect to release the admittedly more exciting 0.8.0 in the next few weeks :) Again thanks for the support and the all of the bug reports etc that have allowed us to make Ikasan better each release! ------- The Ikasan EIP Community is pleased to announce their seventh maintenance release of Ikasan EIP, version 0.7.11. Hi all, Apologies for the long delay, but now that we've sorted out our public/private key signing issues the Ikasan EIP Community is pleased to announce their seventh maintenance release of Ikasan EIP, version 0.7.8. This release fixed a major bug in the global console and fixed several small issues in the FTP connector. Hi all, The Ikasan team is using TeamViewer as the default remote support tool for windows and Mac. Although it is important to note we do not provide paid for support there may be times where a team member can assist a user (or fellow team member) using this tool. Hi all, Just so everyone is aware I've created a new version on Jira called "0.x.x". This version will slowly have items allocated to it that can be tackled at "Anytime" but aren't a priority for a particular release. I envisage static code analysis, maven build improvements, test improvements and those sorts of tasks to go in here. It will be an especially useful place for people unfamiliar with Ikasan (or even certain technologies that we use) to dip their toes in the water. Hi all, So after much project organisation and discussion of where we want to be, we have the solid foundations of a Roadmap for Ikasan EIP! The immediate Plan: ------------------------------ 0.7.5 - Maintenance Release fixing major DB contention bug with Housekeepers - **10/Nov/09** (but likely to go sooner as it is code complete) 0.8.0 - Resubmission and Error Handling - **01/Dec/09** (this is well under control and is almost code complete, expect Release Candidates soon!) The Road to 1.0.0 -------------------------- So 1.0.0 is the version we want to put out that we believe other organisations/individuals can install, configure and use without requiring constant guidance from the core committers and/or contributors. * Our wiki Roadmap page has a mind map which covers our goal for the 1.0.0 end game (http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ikasaneip/index.php?title=Roadmap) the mindmap can also be found at http://www.mindmeister.com/33342976/ikasan-1-0-0 * On the mind map you will see Green ticks (we've achieved that goal), red crosses (we have not achieved that goal) or warning! signs (we have not fully achieved that goal). * When we get close to the 1.0.0 mark then as a project/community we will start engaging the world at large and really try to get it into financial institutions. 0.9.0 - Performance: ----------------------------- 0.9.0 is the next version we will be concentrating on and the main theme is Performance. We've noticed that it is currently impossible to measure how Ikasan performs which is a fundamental bit of knowledge that serious users will use to evaluate Ikasan. Looks fine :) I think, at some point of time (maybe before the next roadmap meetings), it would probably be useful if there was a wiki which would list the "items being considered for the roadmaps". This way, the community would have an general idea about what's going to be discussed in the meetings and could probably add their suggestions. This process would be really useful when the community grows and there's more participation from the community.
