Hi, please have a look what NordVPN wrote me about the issue (ANY IDEA?):

Im working with a DD-WRT-Router (Linksys) with Privoxy installed. But if a secured connection with NordVPN is installed, all the Privoxy-Functions will be blocked!?! Please see attachment for this.
Any workaround?

Hello, Kleva,
Thank you for your letter.
According to Privoxy: A web proxy is a service, based on a software such as Privoxy, that clients (i.e. browsers) can use instead of connecting to web servers directly. The clients then ask the proxy to request objects (web pages, images, movies etc) on their behalf and to forward the data to the clients.
In any case, I would advise you to contact them and inquire whether they are compatible with VPN or not. Also, please inquire whether they require port forwarding or not, because if they do - you will not be able to use it because we do not support that.

Your report is a bit light on details but my interpretation
is that that you are running some kind of VPN software on your
client system, use the browser on the client system and expect
it to first use Privoxy on the "DD-WRT-Router" and then the VPN.

    Is that correct?

If it is, it's not expected to work that way because if the
browser is using the VPN directly, the traffic reaching the
    "DD-WRT-Router" will be encrypted already.

While it's conceivable that you could change the VPN software
to tunnel the traffic through Privoxy, this wouldn't be very
useful as Privoxy would not be able to filter it.

To use Privoxy and a VPN at the same time, Privoxy should be
located between the browser and the VPN software.

You could try moving Privoxy to the client or the VPN software
    to the router.

The configuration would be similar to the one used to use Tor
but the configuration details depend on the VPN software:
