Hello everyone, :)
as I have a treadmill now with iFit support I was wondering if I can communicate with the machine. So I started search for the iFit protocol and found this project. But I was surprised when I found out that this programm communicates with the machine using sound files. My PRO-FORM Sports 7.0 (European version) supports Bluetooth, so I guess sound files wouldn't work, wouldn't they?
Hm, seems the project is dead... :(
Hello sorry about the looong delay work and life have kept me far too busy. Yes bluetooth is something I have been wanting to add, as well as make many more improvements. I plan to pick this back up as a weekend project here over the holidays, hopefully will be much improved soon
Sorry misunderstood I think.. sound files played through bluetooth should work if I understand the setup you are describing.. will look into this. I referred to creating a bluetooth remote to eliminate need for messing with the music files at all.
Thank you. :) Yes, I guess there should be some kind of API. And there are some programs out there which use it. But there is no public documentation about it. Maybe only for paying parties?
How old is your treadmil? My treadmill is circa 1996. Pretty sure that Bluetooth was not in the mainstream way back then. I'm thinking that ifit has moved on from "chirp" based technology. The only input into my treadmill is a 1/8 aka 3.55mm jack for sound.
I bought mine at the beginning of this year, but it came out some time before that. And it definitely doesn't have any "chirp" based technology. In this case unfortunately because I can't use these resources that way. But it sounds like fun - I mean that sound based "API".
Well ... IMO. If you buy a treadmill and it is programable you should be able to program it. I think that the treadmill company or software company should offer the ability up to end users.
Getting more and more tired of crap having functionality that's not accessible cause they want to charge you a monthy subscription price to the tool to make it more functional. If that's the case they should be like printer mfg'ers ... Sell the printer at a loss and the toner/ink at exorbitant prices. Thankfully, Susan here either figured it out or something. I'm in the process of making "chirp" wave files for all the possible settings on my treadmill . So that I can let excel do the work of programming my exercise.
Hence thy why on asking for a dll ....
Would like a way to read the stats on the treadmil but ... alas I think that's a bit much to ask from an rca jack.
