I am looking for papers or research on the way a buildings autonomous system might look at, or interogate the ifc of its building to check on construction, calculate heatloss and condensation risk as the day progreeses, and or internal conditions change, also control soalr gain on both the brisolee and solat panels, checking on incoming weather from sensors.

Hi,
Some pointers (disclaimer, some of these I am involved in myself):
The work John Messner at Penn State has been doing to integrate BIMserver and OpenStudio for thermal simulation of IFC building models:
http://nrel.github.io/OpenStudio-user-documentation/tutorials/tutorial_ifcimport/
The DURAARK project:
More from a cultural heritage / preservation POV, but developed quite extensive tooling for IFC:

The work of Tamer El-Diraby in UofT on integrating social networking / participatory design / thermal simulation and collaborative design:

Kind regards,
Thomas
