Hallo,
I am using the id3lib with Delphi. I try to set the
ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags of MP3 files. The files data is
compressed with VBR.

After setting the ID3v2, the MPEG info (if I view it
in WInamp 5.x) has changed. Example:
- Before the modification it said "186kbit (VBR), 9151
frames"
- After it says "32kbit, 53633 frames"
This results in a wrong calculation of the duration,
and the length of the track in Winamps playlist window
is far too big.
Funnily enough if I play the track, the correct time
is shown in Winamp's main window, and the bitrate is
not constantly at 32kbit as the MPEG info said, but
varying.
Windows Media Player show the correct time when I drag
the track into WMP's playlist.

Is there any way how I can correct this, meaning:
leave the bitrate and the rest of the MPEG info
untouched?

Regards,

Christian Kirchhoff
