Very easy for custom callback functions. When they are done they can just call another callback function. Steven uses that in the LocaleExplorer.

Again, adding mappings to a conversion table changes the conversion table in a way that's incompatible with what the vendor is doing whose table we use (IBM's tables in the standard build, MS etc. in the charset repository).
We would sow confusion instead of solving problems if we created our own conversion tables!

The real solution is to do everything possible to not need to convert out of Unicode.
