I think JC envisions some sort of XML-type build source file, that can then be used to generate any supported project file (e.g. .vcproj). Maybe I misunderstood. I do have another questions/suggestion though. Why not include static libraries in the binary distribution of the ICU for Windows? Most people probably don't even need to compile it, and on Windows this would make sense IMHO. This wouldn't be a good solution under Unix of course, but for Windows? Ingmar.
