Hi, I am using ICU 2.6.1 for C++ and for reasons beyond my control, cannot upgrade to the latest version. However, I do want to update the time zone data in ICU. I have found what I believe to be the script icu/source/tools/gentz/tz.pl which should be able to convert a tzdata2005r tarball downloaded from ftp://elsie.nci.nih.gov/pub/. When I run the script, I get a bunch of errors of the form: Bad alias in tz.alias: Blah maps to non-existent zone blah. Please fix this entry in the alias table. My question is: Is all I have to do, remove the entries from tz.alias? And, if the script runs through fine, should I be able to copy the resultant timezone.txt file over the existing file in icu/data/misc/timezone.txt and rebuild ICU normally?
