%U is no longer supported.  You should use %S.  See the API reference for=20
details.

This is yet another change to the icuio library before it became=20
supported.  The old ustdio library was never officially supported.

Most people expect sprintf to use the C locale behavior (en=5FUS=5FPOSIX in=
=20
ICU).  So that is the default.  Also the extra locale parameter made it=20
difficult to migrate existing sprintf users to icuio's sprintf.  You were=20
using draft API, which is why the API change was allowed, and the current=20
API won't change anymore.=20

If you want to use a locale for sprintf, you should use u=5Ffstropen to=20
specify the locale, and you should use the u=5Ffprintf* functions.=20
