Please be more specific.  What is the error message that you are running 
into?  You're using Cygwin, right?  Your copy of Cygwin is also using int, 
right?

I can build ICU happily on Cygwin - with gcc rather than MSVC - but when I
try to compile a file with the ICU headers included it appears that there 
is
a clash between the icu typedef for int32_t (int) and the system typedef
(long).

I notice from bug #3747 that the icu definition was changed quite 
recently.

I'd be grateful for advice from anyone else who has encountered this.
