I'm runing ibam or the watch -n10 ibam and I receive the same error message no apm data available. What could I've done wrong ?

Check if there is a file /proc/apm in your system. If not, ibam cannot work. Either you don't have a proc-filesystem or no apm in your kernel.
"no apm data available" means that there is no /proc/apm, it's in an unreadable format, or no battery is in your system.
